New Hope Ministries

New Hope Ministries started in the small village of Chillakallu, India in 1985 (the year I was born!) with one family who loved Jesus. Philip Papabathini raised up churches and children who transformed their community. Today, Philip's son Prabhudas Papabathini remains in Chillakallu with his wife and two sons, planting churches, establishing schools, caring for orphans and widows, and providing for the physical and spiritual needs of a very needy community.

New Hope is a vehicle for God to change lives of despair into lives of hope by serving the poor and oppressed people of India.

"Our vision is to effectively demonstrate God's heart for the broken, the lonely, and the poor in communities throughout Andhra Pradesh."

Prabhudas and his wife Ruth have a special heart for children. New Hope Children's Home provides over 100 orphaned children with a safe place, food, clothing, education, and the love and acceptance of a Christian family. Most of the children come from homes ravaged by HIV or parents who committed suicide. They hail from many different castes and classes, but all are equal--all are family--at New Hope.

New Hope has also established a Bible school for pastor training along with a village school for elementary students and a school for children belonging to a witchcraft caste (children who would otherwise receive no schooling aside from witchcraft and sorcery).

Prabhudas and Ruth serve their community with love, generosity, and a tireless desire to see God glorified. Their humble hearts are an amazing testimony to the power and love of Jesus.
